Counselling & Psychotherapy

Counselling & Psychotherapy can be a methodology, theory, technique and or intervention that can offer relief from psychological, emotional and sometimes physical suffering.

There are different approaches that often have overlapping, inter-linking ideas. It is a place in which trust and mutual respect is essential and where the psychotherapist is sufficiently trained and experienced in what they offer.

There are many different counselling styles and many different ideas. What is important is that a ‘therapeutic relationship’ is created; this is the fundamental basis on which change and healing occurs.

Two people gather around the metaphorical table of one persons life, and work collaboratively with the narrative of a persons situation, to explore and understand the perspectives, emotions and behaviours that have proved to be troublesome. It is this ‘work’ that can lead to reconciliation and clear the path to realising our inherent wellbeing.
